DC Red Dress Run
![]() |
| Over my shoulder shot |
On my run this afternoon, I spotted a bunch of people wearing red on 14th Street and my first thought was… an Ohio State University event! Since Julia is at OSU, any and everything red = OSU. So I purposely ran up 14th to check it out and noticed a huge group of men and women all wearing bright red dresses. I had no idea about the DC Red Dress Run and I'll have to get better pictures next year. The best was this guy in a red, very ornate ball gown. I was too chicken to snap his photo; I don't know how he could possibly run in it. I'm glad the rain cleared up for their event.Friday, October 10, 2014
E pluribus unum: Out of Many, One

"Out of Many, One," is the English translation of E pluribus unum. The Washington Post wrote a great article (with a great aerial picture) about this landscape portrait, by Cuban American urban artist Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada. It is on display until October 31, stretching six acres near the World War II memorial. I should have taken a picture of the workers--it was the oddest thing--grouped together putting stakes in the ground. Now it makes more sense; although, from the ground it is not much to look at and they weren't allowing anyone to walk through it.Monday, September 29, 2014
National Coffee Day--Thanks D&D!
I still had my usual pumpkin/vanilla coffee at Bruegger's this morning. However, at lunch, I went to Dunkin Donuts for a free cup of coffee in honor of National Coffee Day! It was delicious. In NYC, I had blueberry coffee at D&D every morning...so good. Maybe I can convince Bruegger's to offer flavor shots.

43rd Latino Festival
Beautiful weather, perfect for running and festivals! I ran into the Latino Festival on Pennsylvania Avenue. There was a parade, lots of food options, and vendors.

Potomac River Fish T-H-I-S Big!
Yesterday morning, I stopped dead in my tracks along the Potomac River when I saw this fish--literally right in front of me. I asked if I could take a picture and the very nice man said, "Sure, you should take a video--wait, get me in the picture for some perspective." He went on to say that this one was small and that he has gotten much bigger fish out of the Potomac. Well now, that is good news; glad that real, living things are surviving in that water. :)
