Steven and I visited
Dumbarton House, nestled in Georgetown on Q Street. The history of Washington, DC, through maps and artifacts, was interesting. My major takeaway, however, after this first-time visit: This would be an AWESOME place to have an event! The inside--of course--but also, the courtyards and gardens are delightful.
