Cool Run at Deep Creek Lake

Bella giving Steven extra kisses this morning.
You can always count on Deep Creek Lake to provide cooler temperatures and challenging hills. It was nice to run outside of the city and really take in a big dose of nature. Steven rode a ton of miles on his bike as well. Besides nice time to reconnect with family, we visited the Maiers, where we stayed for Christmas 2012. The family put on a massive spread for dinner and were so welcoming (their friends were too).
Deer! (Can you find the two?)
Bear! (Look for dark object, dead center of pic.)

Car in the Water Off Rock Creek Parkway

Rock Creek Parkway is expected to be closed in both directions between Connecticut Avenue/Calvert Street NW and Virginia Avenue NW into the morning rush hour because a car went into the water.
Just before 6 a.m., U.S. Park Police said crews were working to try to figure out what happened, according to The Washington Post.
Apparently, a vehicle was traveling south on the parkway around 2 a.m. and crossed over into the northbound lane, went off the road, and into the water.
During my morning run--which I usually never take this route--I caught the tow truck pulling the car out.

The Washington Monument, the iconic tribute to America's first president George Washington reopened for tours. The 555-foot obelisk has been closed for tours since August 23, 2011, when a 5.8 magnitude earthquake caused significant damage to the structure and forced its closure.

CrossFit in Georgetown!

Great location, under the Key Bridge, 3401 K Street. In looking up CrossFit, I had no idea there were so many locations in DC. So, I am debating if I should take a class at the CrossFit Key Bridge location (all of them offer free introductory classes).

Glover Park Farmers Market

First weekend for the Glover Park/Burleith Farmers Market, 9am - 1pm, every Saturday at Hardy Middle School. We bought flowers and herbs; but next week, we plan to try the grass-fed beef, sausage, eggs, and veggies! They even have musical entertainment and a free bike clinic--fun for the whole family! I love our neighborhood.

Various food trucks each week!
