Kennedy Center

Another beautiful day for a run in DC. The Potomac was bustling with the annual Charlie Butt Sculler's Head of the Potomac Regatta. Conversely, the Head of States side of the Kennedy Center was very quiet.

Bronze panel outside of the Hall of States by German artist Jürgen Weber (1928-2007), entitled, "Amerika."  The piece is dated December 24, 1968 and was a gift from the Federal Republic of Germany in memory of John F. Dragon Boat Festival 2013

Despite the rainy weather, there was a great turn out this morning for the Dragon Boat Festival. Sponsored by the Chinese Women's League, their mission is to promote Chinese culture to the DC area through the sport of dragon boat racing. The two-day festival (May 18-19) is held between Thompson's Boat House and the Kennedy Center, along the Potomac River. There are exhibitions, craft demonstrations, and races!

Georgetown Harbor Flood Walls Up

62 degrees today--magnificent weather for running. The flood walls were up, although the Potomac did not look that high. The rink is still in the process of being torn down.

Dark at GT Waterfront

6 a.m. and it is dark! I switched up my route and didn't see too many runners. I would not recommend running along the Potomac pre-dawn unless you have some sort of light source. The morning temp was a crisp 60 degrees--loving it!
