Government Shutdown: Homeless Denied a Bath?

Usually on a morning run, I will witness one or two homeless people bathing or washing their clothes in the Georgetown Waterfront fountain. Not today... and there was one gentleman ranting and raving about it, which I didn't dare try to capture on camera. Not only do we have more trash around the park, but we have more dirty clothes and people too. Come on, government!

Georgetown Waterfront Fountain

Cloudy and mid-80s made for a nice mid-day run. The Georgetown waterfront was packed with boats and people.

Rainy Monument Run

Monday and Tuesday were both dreary, wet runs hovering in the high 50s. The weather deterred some tourists, which made for a nice 5pm run along the reflecting pool and past the Lincoln Memorial yesterday.

National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden

I found this while running down Constitution today--and what a great find!

The National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden, is located on the National Mall at 7th Street and Constitution Avenue NW. Bring your lunch or check out the Pavilion Café; it is a beautiful day to be outside.
